Not Just Hockney …

Not Just Hockney” is a website launched by Colin Neville to illustrate the lives and work of artists, past and present, who were born or lived or currently live within the Bradford MDC.

Thanks for this nice article on my work :

“The window and mural artist, Jenny Tribillon, was born 1985 in the Carcassonne region of Southern France. She came to live in England over 10 years ago and now lives in the Shipley area.

Jenny studied sign writing and painting at the Frederic Mistral Art School in Nimes, and developed her talent for window painting by working with the American artist, Leslie Ronald.  It is now shop windows that take up most of her time, although she also paints wall murals, works with children in local schools on art projects, and does face painting at public events.  One of her specialisms is Trompe l’oeil (‘deceive the eye’) paintings (see example below, at ‘Le Bistro’, Skipton). The technique, practised for centuries, uses realistic and often witty imagery to create an optical illusion of depth.”

“Annual festivals, such as Christmas, Easter and St. Valentine’s Day, can lead to a flurry of commissions for her with local shops (see example below in Skipton).”

“The Tour de Yorkshire events in the region also led to a range of window commission, including a large scale project at Leeds Bradford Airport, with scenes of Yorkshire painted on the windows of the main buildings.”
